02 · The Plant Room Assembly
A typical chiller or pump connection uses several ESG products together: a butterfly or ball valve for isolation, a strainer ahead of the equipment, a check valve on the discharge, an air vent at the high point and a rubber expansion joint to keep pump vibration out of the pipework.
03 · Why Rubber Expansion Joints in HVAC
Pumps and chillers vibrate. Without a flexible connection, that vibration travels through the pipework into the building structure as noise, and into flanged joints as fatigue. Rubber expansion joints absorb it at source and also take up small installation misalignments.
04 · Wafer and Lugged Butterfly Valves
Wafer valves are the economical choice for in-line isolation on risers and headers. Lugged bodies allow one side of the pipe to be removed for equipment maintenance while the valve stays in place — the reason they are specified at chiller and AHU connections.
